Facebook has recently launched its chat messenger as a desktop application. It was initially leaked in December 2011 and was in testing process since January 2012.And finally you can have it now at your accounts. Its official link for download is not provided yet, but you can download it from other resources.
You don't need to chat from your browser anymore. Relax and chat right from your very own desktop with this latest Facebook Instant Messenger Tool.
Comparison of options:
This desktop application has very limited options as compared to other chat messengers. You can not make audio or video call, share any file, and play a game or send SMS messages. It just lets you and your friend communicate, in the simplest possible way. May be they are planning to launch enhanced version later on.
How To Install it?
You can see a notification at the bottom right corner of your Facebook profile where the Chat option appears. Clicking the install button will download the tool in seconds.
No group chats:
It is a very fundamental type of chat messenger. Although you can have group chat when you log in through browser but this desktop application snatches the right from you. You can chat with only one person at a time.
Stay Notified:
The best thing about this application is that you can stay updated with all the activities going on without login into your account. If you have any new messages or a friend request, it is shown in the messenger window at the top. Adjacent to them, is the notifications tab which keeps you notified.Limited to Win 7:
Yes it is not sounding good but it supports limited operating systems; only Win Vista 7/8. No support for XP, Mac or linux. A negative point indeed; but this is how it is and we cant help it .No more separate window:
And the good news is you do not need to open a separate browser window for chatting with your face-book friends only. You can use your messenger in the same manner as you use any other messenger, but your level of addiction is different for Facebook. And finally we can have a bigger chat window as well, thankfullyCheers!

Looks like blogger doing some changes under the hood because I didn't get this post in my mail.
ReplyDeleteAlso I have experienced that the mail sent from blogger for moderating comments have a different format now. It doesn't include a link to Publish, Delete or mark as spam, so we have to go blogger and then approve instead of directly approving from mail which I did earlier.
@Rahmeen & Mohammad
I wonder why Rahmeen do not have a well formatted author description with a photo and a link to blog and fb or g+ like others have. She is the one who is actually doing a good job in tough times like these days when you are not available.
Please lemme know or I won't be able to sleep :p

Yeh but I think sharing girls photo is not the right idea but i think all she need a big claps from us for running MBT so well.and surely she should become the first Diamond author of MBT with a long intro :)
@Faizan
ReplyDeleteWe are living in the 21st century if I am not wrong. Obviously we follow our own tradition very well and I am aware of your tradition as well because I am also living in such an area for more than 20 yrs.
Girls are growing high much faster than men so why they do not have the right to go out in the middle of everyone and tell proudly "Yea, this is me, Rahmeen Khan". Why should they worry when they have bros like you and from my personal experience most of the girls can combat on their own very very well as my majority of the friends are girls.
"sharing girls photo" - This cannot be misused until you do something silly.
Time to rebuild your minds and rethink.
@Bhavesh Pamecha
ReplyDeletewell i guess mohammad can better answer this.
As far as link to blog is concerned;click on my name and you are brought to my personal blog.You can check my intro there
Btw i am proud to have faizan as my brother
@faizan
you spoke my heart :-)
@Rahmeen
ReplyDeleteWell I can't force anyone.
You can have that same intro over here.
Lets see if Mohammad thinks like the way you guys are thinking. I will though be a bit disappointed with that thinking :(
well intro and pic is mohammad's decision here...i also dont know why he has not mentioned anything
ReplyDeletebut for the pic thing ...i want to see who can talk to me because of who i am by characrer,not bcz how i am in looks...everybody has got a different approach and so do i have
I didn't tell that pic is to show your looks or something.
ReplyDeleteAnyways good luck. Don't want to discuss it anymore.
@Bhavesh Pamecha
ReplyDeleteI Respect your comments sir but for a Muslim girl no matter what the century is She need to cover her self with Hijab.Not getting too religious but Girls pics are misused really badly and Facebook is the biggest example of that.Being a 16 year old little Bro To My Sweet API I never disclose her in front of a whole world who is ever ready to miss use personal information...But still all we need is just to Claps for her...and that what i did....And i am sure When Mohammed BRO would be free from all his stress full work he would just do that same that's what i think...No Hard Feelings sir..You are the Best :)
As a muslim woman and an independent professional and a facebook user I am appalled that I have to cover my face with hijab!! No I won't certainly in this century just because some unscrupulous people decide to misuse my picture! I will probably lock my facebook photo album and change privacy settings so that its not visible to everyone.
Deletethat wht i called a great facebook post thanks i really need it

@bhavesh
ReplyDeleteIt would not be the right platform to talk on this topic but I would like to brief a little. Cultures and traditions are widely dependent on ethics and virtues which indirectly are derived from religion. As a Muslim I can never completely understand norms and rituals and practices of other religions completely. I can only use my logic and comment but there is a lot depth in it and unless I understand it with my heart and soul, I can never get to understand why things are done this or that way. Similarly understanding whats wrong if Rahmeen displays her pic or info could be quite complicated for those who do not belong to her school of thought. No logic works here because the act is too deep to be discussed.
Your views are absolutely respectful and right at their own place and same is true for them. So as I said better hug one another and say "Happy go lucky dude" but you both will end nowhere like thousands of people who argue on youTube every single second :)
@Mohammad
ReplyDeleteThanks for the answer but you certainly didn't gave a direct answer.
I think a bit broader and treat all as one and same and distinguish people on the basis of Good and Bad, not as Hindu or Muslim or anything else. The same way I treat men and women as same when it comes to coming forward in this fast pace world. You know what I am trying to say. I never ever thought of the person's religion when I am chatting, making him/her my friend or anything else.
You guys might think I am trying to be oversmart or appraising myself, which is not, and this is the way I am.
I am sorry if I hurt someone's feelings with my so called direct and clear cut views.
Good reply I like that.
Delete@Bhavesh Pamecha
ReplyDeletewell,you have not hurt us.Stay with us with your clear cut views and feedback:-)
i ll update Mohammad soon with my proper intro.Yeah, i wont share any contact info unless i get enough time to communicate with people but i will definitely share my other blogs.
@Rahmeen
ReplyDeleteThank you very much for that comment and I am very happy that you finally agreed to give a proper intro. About the pic it doesn't necessarily has to be your own. It could be just your name engraved on something :)
You just can't imagine how happy I am.
Thanks a lot!!!
@Bhavesh
ReplyDeleteyeah,i made a mistake and should have agreed before.
